Pear awa
Pear awa is made with pears grown by one of the best fruit farms in our area, Heath Fruit Farm.
Heath Fruit Farm harvested the pears last autumn and stored them at the farm for a couple of months to ripen. We then picked them up and hand-made them into purée at our brewery before adding them to the moromi during the first fermentation.
We created our Limited Batch Series to explore our curiosity and share the joy of naturally sparkling sake with everyone by pushing boundaries. We hope that it helps you discover new ways to enjoy sake.
It is unpasteurized so the fermentation is still ongoing in the bottle and you can enjoy the beauty of the fleeting moments of nature.

The label design
Our creative team (Yuki and Yoshiyuki) designed the label for 'awa × pear'.
They chose the traditional Japanese color, Kihada-iro, for the label. Kihada-iro comes from the bark of the Kihada tree and is dyed using the decoction of the tree's bark. This color has been used since the Nara period (710-794) and is deeply rooted in Japanese tradition.
We feel a sense of connection to the origin story of Kihada-iro, which is a testament to human creativity in harmony with nature's beauty.
